Video: Speeches on Greek workers’ struggles, Moroccan trade agreement, and supporting Kazakh oil workers

The parliament met this week in Strasbourg. I made a number of speeches on different issues.

Firstly, I spoke on the struggle being waged by the Greek working class against the vicious austerity measures which are being imposed by the Troika, this includes the cutting of the minimum wage by 22% and the sacking of 15,000 public sector workers.

The second speech is on a trade deal between the E.U and Morocco which will  have a negative effect on the livelihoods of small farmers and fishermen. Only the King and major companies stand to profit from this deal.

Oil workers in Kazakhstan have been waging a strike for over a year for better pay and conditions. This has resulted in huge repression by the state being launched against them. This has included their lawyer being imprisoned, workers being murdered and a massacre by state forces on 16th December last year. For more information on this see this link
